Card Challenges

Holiday Tags in unconventional colors for #GDP265

Hey! Thanks for stopping by my little happy spot. Take a look around and hope you enjoy.

We would love to see what card creation you can bring to life. Please consider, taking a minute to post your card creation in our challenge gallery at CAS Colours & Sketches.

This week’s color combination at Global Design Project is Coastal Cabana, Smoky Slate and a free choice. How fun is that! I chose to go with Granny Apple Green for my free choice color.

I chose to go down the holiday trail and use these colors to create some unconventional holiday tags. I really love how they turned out – very bright and fun.

The tag fronts (6 in total) are Whisper White cardstock cut to 2-5/8″ x 5″, each front is stamped with the Buffalo Check Background stamp. 2 tags fronts are stamped Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana and Smoky Slate. Each tag front is matted with Granny Apple Green, Costal Cabana and Smoky Slate cardstock cut to 2-3/4″ x 5-1/8″ – again, 2 of each color. Each matt is inked around the edge for a bit of depth in the coordinating color. I used the Best Plaid Builder die set to cut the grids on the tag fronts – 2 grids per each color. The ornaments are from the Christmas Gleaming Stamp set stamped in versamark, heat embossed in White on Granny Apple, Coastal Cabana and Smoky Slate card stock, then punched with the Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack. They are attached to the tag front with dimensionals.

Using the ribbon topper for these tags I also attached a smaller greeting tag to finish off the larger tag. The smaller tag is created with the Everything Essential Bundle. The “Joy to the World’ and “Season’s Greetings” images are stamped twice each on Whisper White card in Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green and Smoky Slate. Then punched with the Essential Tag Punch. Each mini tag is inked around the edge with the coordinating color. The smaller tag is also matted with a piece of cardstock 2-1/8″ x 1-3/4″ that is also inked in its coordinating color. The corner is punch out with a 3/4″ circle punch to play nice with the Essential Tag Punch. The embellishments are from my stash – I believe they are from Honey Bee. I love these tags, they are so much fun.
