Today I have a sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches<\/a><\/strong>. #FMS391 For this challenge, I definitely had a theme in mind. My sisters Birthday is coming up very soon, she will be looking for her card. She lives several hours away, so I have got to be sure to get into the mail early enough for timely arrival. My confidence in timely delivery is wavering a bit, as several things have arrived significantly late when they should have been there in no time! Therefore, this early bird will definitely catch the worm!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this card, I obviously went with a birthday theme, using the Hello Cupcake stamp set and coordinating dies from Sale-A-Bration. Such a cute set, I felt like it was the perfect choice for my sister. I have noticed lately that her favorite decor color combo and a very light lavender-ish purple, yellow and gray, so that is the avenue I took for her card. I also was able to incorporate one of the new Stampin’ Up! In-colors Purple Posy. <\/p>\n\n\n

I started with a Basic Gray Card base, used So Saffron for the matt, then to follow the sketch, I used a piece of Purple Posy behind a piece of Whisper White. Using the coordinating dies for this set, I die cut the cupcake platter in a silver foil paper and attached to the card front with dimensionals. The cupcake wrapper was stamped on Crumb Cake card with Crumb Cake Ink, then cut with the coordinating die. The tiny bit of cake peeking through the icing was stamped on Very Vanilla with So Saffron and cut with the coordinating die. I stamped the luscious icing in Highland Heather on a piece of Purple Posy. I also added some Sparkle Glitter to the icing to make it that much more special! The banner is also made of Purple posy with a toothpick sticking out of the icing. The sentiment “Cake is the Answer” comes from the Hello Cupcake Stamp set, the “Happy Birthday” on the banner came from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set. I embellished a tiny bit further with sequins from the Woven Threads Sequins Assortment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
