Today I have a card created for Freshly Made Sketches<\/a><\/strong> FMS398 and a sketch hosted by Cecile. She gave specific instructions to allow our mojo to flow, so I think that is what I did. I have also been slightly bitten by the Holiday bug, especially since Stampin’ Up! is coming out with their Holiday catalog very soon. OK, so in reality, I love Christmas and it really doesn’t take much to get the Christmas Spirit going. My kids play piano so that festive music turns up pretty early in this household as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For my card today I am going Holiday (in case you didn’t figure that out earlier). For the card base, I am going with Whisper White Thick cut to 8-1\/2″ x 5-1\/2″ scored at 4-1\/4″, creating a standard side folding card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The focal image is from actually from the coordinating die set to Winter Woods, called In the Woods. The tree is cut from Sparkle Glimmer Paper that I colored using the Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends Marker Combo Pack and Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Marker. I think the colors turned out really well on the the Sparkle Glimmer Paper, the sparkle lends hints of blue and then of course the various greens. It looks like a Spruce in the wood at winter just after a frost or a light icing event. LOVE IT! The die helps to add the dimension to the tree. For the background, I continued with the woods them and went with the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on a piece of Whisper White, I then cut it at an angle to represent the sketches angled lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I then adhered the die cut tree with dimensionals and embossed tree panel with liquid adhesive to a piece of Whisper White Cardstock cut with the Stitched Rectangle Dies. This completed panel was then backed with a piece of Fun Foam, slightly smaller than the panel itself. I absolutely love the stability and the feel that the foam adds to the card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
