I am absolutely in love with this card! First off, I love the look, colors and smell of lavender. So much so that I have anything and everything connected to it. Lavender shower gel and lotion, essential oil for my laundry, diffusers, candles, etc. So it is a natural progression that I had to have the Lavender Suite. I personally don’t do much with patterned paper unless I can connect with the majority of the patterns in the pack, this set is a success with me – purple is always welcome, I adore the natural rustic feel of crumb cake – this entire suite has won me over. For this card, I had the overwhelming need to add in the Simply Zinnia bundle – for an additional touch of color. It feels more like a flower garden with that addition which also works perfectly for a birthday card. The Crumb cake gingham patterned paper works so well for the background – and I simply love the pattern. The colors are what makes me the happiest with Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape for the lavender. Berry Burst, Lofty Lemon, Pumpkin Pie, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape cardstock for the Zinnia. The leaves are Mossy Meadow and Old Olive cardstock. The flowers and leaves are cut with the coordinating Simply Zinnia die set. The sentiment is from the Notes of Nature stamp set, stamped in Crumb Cake on Basic White cardstock and die cut with the Tailor Made Tags die set. The final touches of the Natural Wavy Trim – which is hands down my favorite ribbon\/trim of all, and a dash of purple and sparkle on the tag with the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems (another piece to the Painted Lavender Suite.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Happy Mother’s Day! <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This card was really fun and actually pretty easy to pull together. The DSP is 12″ x 12″ Hues of Happiness and the Happy Mother’s Day sentiment comes from the Daffodil Daydream are retiring 2 May 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this card, I went with a Z-fold design in Crumbcake card stock. I used Daffodil Delight cardstock as a matt for the DSP – the pattern reminded me of a sunrise\/sunset – so worked perfectly with my Lightening Bug “Firefly” idea. The Garden Green vines are die cut from the Dainty Delight Dies. The Early Espresso cardstock lantern and lightening bug are die cut from the Lighting the Way Dies. The Basic White and Crumbcake circles are die cut from the Stylish Shapes Dies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The majority of the stamping in done in Early Espresso ink – the sentiment on the front of the card as well as the stamped lightening bugs inside the card are from the Lighting the Way stamp set, the glow around the the lit end of the firefly is stamped in Mango Melody. The lantern has a little bit of vellum the has Mango Melody “smeared” (technical term) on the back, resembling the light inside the lantern chimney. The large firefly “inside” the card is die cut from the Lighting the Way dies the body is Early Espresso cardstock, the yellow end is Daffodil Delight cardstock, lightly inked with Mango Melody ink on the edges. The main set of wings is die cut from vellum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
