Today I have for you a card created for a sketch challenge at Global Design Project #GDP262. I loved playing with this sketch, so many ways to go with it. Check out what I came up with.

I did have a hard time deciding which way I wanted to go with this, I have been dying to play with the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper and the Pretty Peacock, Cajun Craze and Bumblebee plaid has been calling to me for a while. I decided to pick it up and roll with it. Copper is my number one go to favorite metallic, be it shiny or brushed! Its warmth goes really well with the warmth of Cajun Craze and the Richness of Pretty Peacock. The acorn trinkets are a cutie I just had to include. All the circles are cut with the Stitched Circle dies, the leaf image is die cut with the Stitched Leaves Dies – these dies can be bundled with the Love of Leaves Stamp set. The bundle is called Love of Leaves Bundle. Both sets are just beautiful. I am a big leaf fan….but these guys are perfect for anything. The Pretty Peacock mat panel is embossed with the stitched embossing plate that comes in the die set. I inked the edges of all things Pretty Peacock in Pretty Peacock, to add another level of depth. The Copper mat is first cut with the largest Stitched circle die, then dry embossed with the Tasteful Texture 3D embossing folder….this guy is a workhorse…it can be used with everything. The greeting “Thank You” comes from the Love of Leaves stamp set. It is stamped on Whisper White in Pretty Peacock ink and cut with the Classic Label Punch. The copper greeting mat is cut with the Banners Pick a Punch.

The stitched circle mats are glued together than attached to the Pretty Peacock embossed mat with dimensionals. The focal Pretty Peacock circle with the stitched leaf cut out is also attached to the mat with dimensionals. Tied around the stem of the leaf is a piece of Linen Thread with Acorn trinkets tied off to each end. The leaf cut from the circle is attached to with glue – in hindsight, I think I would attach with dimensionals. The greeting is glued together and then glued to the circle.

Inside I cut another Pretty Peacock leaf and created a border at the bottom with a sliver of the Plaid Tidings DSP pattern I used on the card front.

Thanks again for stopping by and spending a bit of your time with me. I hope you enjoyed learning about how this card came together. Hopefully you were even inspired just a bit.
