CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #534

Hey everyone, welcome to our hostess for the month of April – Rachel! We start the month off with a color challenge, using 3 colors that scream Spring! Ready to give it a go?

So, I was in need of several Thank You cards – so that set the stage for my direction. Aided by this great color challenge – the first thought was flowers, but what flower? Lavender? No it can’t be anything other than purple, honestly! So the next in line was the Zinnia stamp set. I clearly took it and ran. Zinnia and only Zinnia. A Deckled Rectangle die, and a punch for the sentiment. Bet! In the language of my teenage kids. I made 4 cards, same design, in 15minutes! Outstanding! I went into auto-pilot and the next thing I know I had a win-win situation – The Thank You cards I needed AND a card for your inspiration. Did it work? Are you inspired?

I used a sponge dauber to get the color on the rubber stamp – very difficult to see Flirty Flamingo and Soft Sea Foam on a red rubber stamp…but I’m not one to step away from a challenge. I have 2 teenagers after all – one of which is a girl! I used a Deckled Rectangle to cut out the Zinnia image, then matted that with a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock. I cut 1/2″ Basic White strips for the sentiment, put them through their paces with the Banners Pick a Punch. Stamped the sentiment “Thank You so much” in Garden green, I felt Soft Sea Foam was too pale for the sentiment. Used some dimensionals to attach the finished panel to the card, for a bit more interest. Inside the card I stamped a Flirty Flamingo Zinnia image with a couple of Soft Sea Foam leaves.
