Stamp It Group Blog Hop – March is for Easter

Hey all, welcome to my little happy spot! I am Shannon Hatch coming to you from Birmingham Alabama.
Thanks for joining The Team Stamp-It Blog hop this month, hope you are enjoying everything you have seen so far. Below is a list of Blog Hoppers, click on their name to continue on to their blog and experience the inspiration they have created for you. At each stop, be sure to leave a comment in the comment section of each post. For each comment, you will be entered into a random drawing for the opportunity to win the prize pictured below. Good luck to you all and enjoy the hop.

Regardless of your slant, the vast majority of us enjoy the beauty of a decorated hard boiled egg (or even plastic, glass, alabaster or acrylic eggs etc.). The yummy satisfaction of a chocolate egg or bunny melting in your mouth. Don’t we all enjoy the inspiring thought of a fresh new beginning that comes with the start of the Spring season. I choose to celebrate Easter as many devout Christians and believe it is the resurrection day of Jesus, the son of God. So my card design comes from a culmination of all the holiday beliefs. The colors of Easter are Purple, Gold and White. Butterflies represent the resurrection. Eggs and bunnies seem to stem from pagan beliefs (representing fertility) long long ago that morphed into representing rebirth and/or renewal. As for the lavender ….. it is steeped in Roman tradition (the bad guys in the Easter story) ….. but I love love love love this Suite! So, I thought I would lean on the significance of the color purple. I don’t have a Lily stamp set or die set that I could have worked with.

Quickly, inside isn’t ignored – I created a bottom border from slivers of the Perennial Lavender Pattern Paper and the Distressed Gold Specialty paper. On some water color Loosely mixed a tiny drop of Copper Clay Ink Refill and Early Espresso. Then in black I stamped the bunny and cut with the coordinating die.

So here they are, the 2 cards I created. I can’t decide which is my favorite by I think I lean toward the White card base, but I also adore the Crumb Cake card base. What do you think? Hope you enjoy.
