This card is created for a color challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches Color Challenge #358. The colors are Stampin’ Up! colors Pear Pizzazz, Grapefruit Grove and Daffodil Delight, VERY springy colors. The Stampin’ Up! color names are for reference only, if you have similar colors from another source, create a card, come play along with us. Would love to see your designs over there.
Alabama is experiencing highs that are 30 degrees above normal right now, our daffodils and tulips are already blooming! Thus the inspiration for this card. Once the inspiration hit me, this card came together so quickly. A few key colors, a stamp set, a coordinating punch, a pair of snips and glue, I amazed myself.
The front panel is created using the Timeless Tulip Bundle which includes the Timeless Tulip Stamp set (a DistINKtive Stamp set from Stampin’ Up!) and the coordinating Tulip Builder Punch. The Tulip bud images are stamped in Grapefruit Grove and Daffodil delight and the leaves are Pear Pizzazz. The large buds were cut with the punch while the smaller bud is fussy cut. On a piece of Whisper White, using a blending brush, I blended Grapefruit Grove and Daffodil Delight together to create a sunlit morning sky. After auditioning all the flower parts, I finally landed here and glued in them in place on the blended Whisper White piece. The finished panel was then attached to the mat of Grapefruit Grove. The sentiment, stamped in Grapefruit Grove, “What a Beautiful Difference One Single Life Makes” is also from the Timeless Tulip Stamp set. Punched out with the Pretty Label Punch, matted with Grapefruit Grove also from the Pretty Label punch. The mat is simply cut in half and separated to give the illusion of a larger mat. The sentiment is adhered with dimensionals.
