Welcome back for another color challenge this week. Here is the color combination our Design Team Member Holly, has pulled together for you. These are beautiful, soothing, soft colors, Highland Heather, Pool Party and Daffodil Delight. Would love to see what you create, post your creations at CAS Colours & Sketches. This is what I have created to hopefully get those creative vibes flowing.
I had so much fun with this color challenge, the Butterfly Gala set came to mind instantly. I stamped the butterflies on Whisper White with Memento Black, then filled each butterfly with the filler stamp in Highland Heather, Pool Party and Daffodil Delight. I stamped the bottom portion 2 or 3 additional times, so there was a slight tonal change. Each butterfly is punched out with the Butterfly Duet Punch. Each butterfly is mounted on a stitched square die cut of Whisper White cardstock with liquid glue just down the middle. Then matted on a slightly larger square of coordinating color of cardstock to the butterfly. On another piece of Whisper White that is cut to 3-1/8″ x 5-1/2″, I stamped the “bubble” image from the Life is Beautiful Stamp set, using the same ink color as the butterfly. I attached the butterflies to this panel just above their coordinating bubbles on dimensionals. The final flourish is the greeting “You’ve been on my mind” also in the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set. The finished Whisper White panel is finished with a thin strip of Highland Heather on the top and bottom for some definition and attached to the Thick Whisper White top folding card base.
For the inside of the card, the stamp set and punch create 2 butterflies, 1 large and 1 small. I used the small butterflies in the coordinating colors, fluttering about in the corners.
