Card Challenges

A Berry-licious Thank You

Hey! Thanks for stopping by my little happy spot. Take a look around and hope you enjoy.

We would love to see what card creation you can bring to life. Please consider, taking a minute to post your card creation in our challenge gallery at CAS Colours & Sketches.

Welcome to our first challenge for February already – can you believe it! Our Design Team member that will be fearlessly leading us through this month is Julie, she is kicking off the month with a gorgeous Color Challenge. She has chosen to combine Just Jade, Pacific Point and Poppy Parade. Can’t wait to see what you guys create with these colors, so don’t forget to show us your creations on our blog CAS Colours & Sketches.

For this challenge I immediately jumped to Berry Blessings and the Sweet Strawberry Bundle. In my mind that have to go together and I just love both sets. They make me happy! A few stamps, some masking and a couple of punches help to create this super easy and yummy card.

  • Standard A2 side folding card base – Whisper White (as a reminder, Whisper was unfortunately adversely affected by COVID and is no longer available, Stampin’ Up! now carries Basic White.)
  • 3″ Scalloped Circle Punch (From my stash)
  • On Basic White cardstock, stamped the Blueberries image in Pacific Point and the leaf sprig image in Just Jade. Also stamped the strawberry image in Poppy Parade and the leaves in Just Jade. All things strawberry are punched with the coordinating Strawberry Builder Punch.
  • Glued Strawberry to the scalloped circle
  • Attached finished front to the card base with dimensionals.
  • Stamped “Thank You” in Just Jade just below the circle.
  • For extra dimension and shading I inked the scalloped circle edge with the Light Crumb Cake Blends marker and drew a shadow line beneath the blueberries.
  • I repeated the berry scene inside the card!

Thanks again for stopping by and spending a bit of your time with me. I hope you enjoyed learning about how this card came together. Hopefully you were even inspired just a bit. Below are pictured links to all the items used for this card, click the link of the item to be taken to my online store where you can learn more about each item. If you would like to learn more about this challenge or to see what other talented designers have created for this challenge, hop on over to CAS Colours & Sketches. I will return soon with something new. Until then, stay safe, and by all means keep crafting, exploring and creating. See you soon.

Thank you! I am so happy that everyone can comment as well – it felt like I fell into a hole. Whenever WordPress does updates it seems to kick out that commenting is allowed. I can’t explain it, other than it is highly annoying!

Shannon those colours are perfect for your collection of berries – what a great idea! Love the use of the scalloped circle to highlight your focal point too.
