And it is….April…. this whirlwind of life needs to slow way down! Well over here at CAS Colours & Sketches things are moving along as well, we have a new hostess this month, Bhavya. She has pulled together a really pretty color scheme for us this week. We would love to see what direction these colors pull you when creating your card, please post your card creation to our challenge gallery.

Down here in the south we tend to have a very short winter and mostly jump straight into spring. Right now, the daffodils and tulips have come and gone, now the Hydrangeas are beginning to come to life. As I look out the window beside my workspace I have Oakleaf, Limelight, blue color and pink color (due to soil amendments) hydrangeas beginning to wake up, I cant wait for them to bloom. Right beside the hydrangeas are my Camellia bushes – they have been in bloom for quite sometime and are the same beautiful shade of pink as this Polished Pink. So I decided to create a hydrangea flower in Polished Pink. The stem and leaves are stamped in Soft Succulent and filled in with 2nd generation Garden Green. These two green are actually quite similar at full strength, the 2nd generation really didn’t help much , so I die cut the stem and leaves in Garden Green to be sure the color was well represented. I added a couple of die cut Polished Pink blooms for extra dimension on the stamped flower. The sentiment is stamped in Garden Green. The background is Soft Succulent cardstock embossed with the Tasteful Texture Embossing folder. I wanted the flower to really stand apart so I elevated it with dimensionals. Inside I simply stamped a couple of leaves in Soft Succulent and added a few more Polished Pink blooms.
