CAS Colours & Sketches – Sketch Challenge #537
Hey! Thanks for stopping by my little happy spot. Take a look around and hope you enjoy.
Here we go, the 2nd challenge for May. I love this sketch, it is the opposite of how my brain works….it was fun trying to convince my head to go this direction. Once I figured out what to do, this is the sketch that inspired many other directions with the same stamp set and DSP. Must say that the color Pebbled Path is very much in my top 3 favorites at the moment.
We would love to see what card creation you can bring to life. Please consider, taking a minute to post your card creation in our challenge gallery at CAS Colours & Sketches.
Once my head worked out that it needed to flex and bend a bit differently, it latched on hook, line and sinker with the colors I chose to work with. This is the sketch that launched 1000 ships with its color scheme that I chose – so many more ideas have come to mind with these colors, which was actually kindled with our earlier color challenge this month.
Any who, this card is a Pebbled Path card stock standard A5 card base. The DSP is from the Nature’s Sweetness Specialty Designer Series Paper. Cut a 1-1/2″ strip from each pattern then stacked them per the sketch. I cut a basic white cardstock rectangle with a Deckled Rectangle die to the size most closely resembling the sketch. I stamped the sentiment “Happy Mothers Day” from Perennial Postage stamp set in Pebbled Path ink. On a scrap piece of Basic White card I stamped the Cocoa bean image from the Lovely Sweet Stamp set in Pebbled Path, then used watercolor pencils to color in the image – I did not activate the pencil with water, just used them like an ordinary color pencil. Stuck everything to the card front with a tape liner. Finished off the front with the colored Cocoa bean image cut with its coordinating die, attaching it to the white rectangle with dimensionals. The inside of the card is lined with Basic White cardstock, in the lower left corner I stamped the Cocoa image in Pebbled Path.
Thanks again for stopping by and spending a bit of your time with me. I hope you enjoyed learning about how this card came together. Hopefully you were even inspired just a bit. Below are pictured links to all the items used for this card, click the link of the item to be taken to my online store where you can learn more about each item. I will return soon with something new. Until then, stay safe, stay healthy and without doubt, keep on crafting, exploring and creating.
