One last Halloween card, I could just not help myself. I am laughing at myself right now, because I typically don’t get into the Halloween card making thing. However, Frightfully Cute Bundle is just to much fun to play with and then ideas kept popping in my head…..they “haunted” me till they finally let all my fears fall into the cardstock. I really had a lot of fun getting really inky with the background, I made quite a few pieces of the background, they couldn’t just sit there….unused…..had to create more halloween cards! So the final backgrounds from that inky day have landed into this final card Halloween card. Not just any card, a fun fold card….a gatefold card.
Basic Black card base cut to 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 2-3/4″ and 8-1/4″. Basic Gray card is cut to fit the 2 front panels 2-1/2″ x 4″. The color smooshed watercolor paper backgrounds 2-3/4″ x 3-1/4″ are cut to fit on top of the Basic Gray mats. The “knob” of the gate is a Basic Black 2″ x 3-5/8″ piece, rounded at each end. Using a window frame die from the Window Flower Box die set – I cut 2 pieces of Basic Gray Card stock, glued them together then inked in black around all the edges. The panel behind the window frame is a scrap piece of Basic White card, using a blending brush I covered with Bumblebee ink heavier on one side lighter on the other – looks like the light is coming from the left side – Then to add a touch of spook I black heat embossed the spider from the Frightfully cute bundle. I used the Cat Punch to get a black cat that is sitting outside peeping into the window at the spider. I also cut 2 trees in black and 2 more trees in basic gray – glued one of each together slightly off for a more dramatic effect. I used the star dies to cut stars from Black Glitter Paper. Inside the card is the second tree and I added a moon stamped and cut with the same bundle on the final piece of background, then stuck the panel to another piece of Basic Gray. I used left over trimmed off pieces of the background to either side of the center panel. Final touch is a Basic White panel stamped with a black cat that is even closer to a dangling spider!
