I love creating cards that are meant to hopefully inspire you, get those creative juices flowing and seeing what comes out in the end. With any luck this card will do just that, I would love to see what you come up with. This week at CAS Colours & Sketches, since this is the 5th week in the month, we have Double Challenge #377 ready and waiting for your interpretation. With this double challenge we have combined a color challenge and a sketch challenge. These colors reference past colors from Stampin’ Up, Certainly Celery, Blush Blossom and Bashful Blue. These are for guidance only. Use what you have in your stash that most closely matches. I can not wait to see what everyone creates.
Here’s what I came up with. First I must admit, I don’t have these specific colors in my stash so I used what I felt most closely represented the challenge colors. My choices are Stampin’ Up! Pear Pizzazz, Petal Pink and Balmy Blue. The Petal Pink I used comes from the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper from the Peony Garden Suite. The Balmy Blue and Pear Pizzazz are the cardstock pieces. The (what I call) Eucalyptus branch comes from the Forever Fern Bundle from the Forever Greenery Suite. I created 2 cards, using the leftovers of the first card, just mixing things up a bit, switching the Balmy Blue and Pear Pizzazz as the focal image colors. The Eucalyptus branch is stamped in Balmy Blue on the Balmy Blue cardstock and Pear Pizzazz on the Pear Pizzazz cardstock. Like wise with the sentiment “a little hello”, which comes from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set. Unfortunately, the sequins became a necessary “evil” once a dirty spot appeared in the corner of the Whisper White focal panel, after the card was completed. Luckily I found colors that most closely related to Balmy Blue and Pear Pizzazz in the Whale of a time Sequins Collection. I could not get the spot off to save my life, I tried everything.
Inside the card, I stamped the Eucalyptus branch combing Balmy Blue and Pear Pizzazz ink with sponge daubers on the stamp. I really love how that combination plays so nicely together.
Thanks again for stopping by and spending a bit of your time with me. I hope you enjoyed learning about how this card came together. Hopefully you were even inspired just a bit. Below are pictured links to all the items used for this card, click the link of the item to be taken to my online store where you can learn more about each item. If you would like to learn more about this challenge or to see what other talented designers have created for this challenge, hop on over to CAS Colours & Sketches. I will return soon with something new. Until then, stay safe, and by all means keep crafting, exploring and creating. See you soon.
