A little holiday snowflake fun.

This is a fun card that I put together for a holiday cardswap – made 15 total cards. Some color blending for a background, a little dry embossing a little heat embossing and a smidge of diecutting.

I used Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Fresh Freesia to create this background on Basic White cardstock using blending brushes. Pushed that aside to dry well and worked on the dry embossing using the snowflake pattern from the wintery 3d embossing folders on the Fresh Freesia cardstock strips. Then the edges are inked in Gorgeous Grape. I attached a 1/4″ strip of silver foil along the bottom edge. The Background is good and dry so now I use a sponge dauber to apply Versamark ink through the snowflake stencil from the Adorning Design Decorative Masks. I then combine Silver and White embossing powder to cover the entire page. I use silver embossing powder to create the sentiment “Celebrate the Wonder” from the Stars are Shining Stamp set. I set that aside to cool for a bit, moving on to the basic white thick top folding card bases – inside the card Fresh Freesia ink I stamped the “snow blowing image” from the Time of Giving stamp set. I attached the snowflake dry embossed strip across the lower portion of the card front with glue. Now it is time to use the nesting circles die set (scalloped edge) to cut from the blended background. I attached that to the card base with Adhesive backed foam sheet. Then I use the paper trimmer to cut the sentiment strips – attached with glue and a dimensional. The final touch is a bit of sparkle from the Subtle Shimmer Sequins.
