Unfortunately, the new year has kicked off with some sadness. My husbands step-mother passed away from COPD. Meaning that a sympathy card is needed. This card actually came together pretty quickly, the Fine Art Floral Suite was screaming out to be used for this card. I think it turned out beautifully.
Whisper White thick cardstock is cut to 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ for a standard A2 top folding card. Pool Party and Bermuda Bay inks comes together to create this 2 step flower. Old Olive ink is used to create the stem and leaves, then die cut. I ran a piece of Pool Party cardstock through the embossing machine with the Subtle folder for just a hint of texture. The background is a pattern from the Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper Collection in the Suite. Inside the card, I used a couple of left over strips from the same Designer Series Paper and another die cut flower. Everything is glued together. The greeting comes from Many Messages bundle and is also stamped with Bermuda Bay ink. The flower is popped up on dimensionals. I used a sheer Pool Party ribbon to camouflage the seam on the card front, then added a touch of sparkle with some Clear Epoxy drops. The sentiment inside the card comes from the free Sale-a-bration sentiment set called Heal Your Heart.
