I love to craft, when I am not making cards, I am art journaling or junk journaling. I love playing with all the different medias that are out there, I just can’t help myself. So I started journaling a while ago….. I thought to be a bit more diverse, I would bring to you another side of me – I do have several sides, something octagon-ish. Mom to a pre-teen girl and a driving teenage boy, Wife, Taxi Driver, Swim mom, Basketball mom, Household Logistics coordinator, Household CFO, Household President (I fancy that – probably to be politically correct we have 2 presidents here – its a coin toss who takes the lead day to day), Household Doctor (except I didn’t stay at Holiday Inn last night), Household vet – 3 dogs, 1 with bone cancer and an amputated front leg due to the cancer, then 1 cat – and I could go on.
Here is a peak into my latest journal, I am involved with the Facebook group Mixed Media Emporium, an art journal group hosted by Nina Ribena and Kylie Coo. This is a private group, but answer a couple of questions correctly and your in. These two are so talented, I have been watching their You Tube videos for a couple of years and have finally decided to take part in their weekly challenges. So here it goes.
I made this journal from a cereal box, covered with contact paper that has been laying around my house for 10 years, bound it with some faux leather ribbon – this is about using up scraps, bits and pieces. I filled it with 3 signatures of various papers I have, coffee stained, Rice Paper, Scrapbook paper, Mulberry paper, other papers will be added along. The signatures are not sewn in, they are held in with elastic cord I wrapped around the spine. The cover is embellished with a mixed media kit I get called Your Creative Studio @yourcreativestudio. I made the bead dangle on the front cover from beads I have at the ready. The pages are filled with ephemera and other items that I have made with the January 2021 Your Creative studio box, the tags on their own pages are from a monthly subscription to Piles of Paragraphs @pilesofparagraphs monthly tag kit.
