Today is the fifth Tuesday of August, and that means we have a Double Challenge for you! Patricia has found a fun sketch challenge from the archives that caught her attention, as well as a colour challenge using some retired Stampin’ Up ink colors that feel very cool and peaceful to me. I can see the colors going in so many directions, and the sketch will just make that much more fun. So…have some fun with our double challenge. We would love to see how this challenge inspired your card mojo! Please share an image of your card creation in our challenge gallery at CAS Colours & Sketches.
Well, as it were, I do not have any of these Stampin’ Up! challenge colors in my stash, so I decided to improvise with the following Stampin’ Up! colors I did have in my stash: Bubble Bath for Pale Plum, Old Olive for Mellow Moss and Highland Heather for Perfect Plum. Starting with a Basic White Standard A4 card base – this card really came together so quickly for me, I stewed for days with ideas – overthinking – you know the drill. I just decided to go all in and before I knew it, I had pulled together the Chic Dies for the background element, the Earthen Textures Bundle for the Bubble Bath clay pot – Bubble Bath ink on Bubble Bath Cardstock and the fern leaves are just simply die cut on Old Olive cardstock. The Cheerful Daisies bundle popped in for the Highland Heather daisies – Highland Heather ink on Highland Heather cardstock. The background element is also simply die cut Old Olive cardstock, but it needed to be knocked back a bit so I tapped on some White pigment Stampin’ Craft ink. The Happy Birthday Sentiment is from Charming Sentiments stamp set. The clay pot, fern frond and flowers are attached to the background element with Dimensionals – that depth really added quite a bit. I didn’t want to, but the flower centers really needed to be read with more dimension as well so I used the2023-2025 In-color dots to make the flower center really pop and look more like coneflowers than daisies.
Thanks again for stopping by and spending a bit of your time with me. I hope you enjoyed learning about how this card came together. Hopefully you were even inspired just a bit. Below are pictured links to all the items used for this card, click the link of the item to be taken to my online store where you can learn more about each item. I will return soon with something new. Until then, stay safe, and by all means keep crafting, exploring and creating. See you soon.
