Well here it is Tuesday again….this Tuesday, our hostess Yoon Young at CAS Colours & Sketches, inspires us with a Sketch Challenge. I don’t know about you, but a good bit of the time, it is the simplest ideas that stump me the most. Yes, I tend to over think, making anything far more difficult than it probably needs to be. That said, does this happen to you or are you the sort that can take it and come out with something in an instant (I’m very jealous, if this is you!). I can’t wait to see what everyone is able to create with this seemingly simple sketch! If you would like, please post a photo of your project to our challenge gallery.
This card, once I got over my though process hump, became a one bundle wonder! The Ladybug started screaming at me…very persistently. She left me no choice but to pull her out and have a go. In my neck of the woods we have Yellow Lady bugs, just about as common as the typical red ladybug. Apparently they are technically beetles – this variety is called the 22 spotted Ladybird Beetle! Who Knew…right? What’s more….there are 17 different varieties of this same species, these guys eat Mildew – some eat aphids and other unfriendly to plants insects. So some varieties are a god send for the garden.
A couple of colors – Granny Apple Green, Polished Pink an Daffodil Delight, a few images, a couple of dies and a punch. I think this card turned out really cute, something about the pink flower and the ladybug make me smile. The sentiment is from the Hello Ladybug stamp Set and was the perfect thought for that moment.

Comments
Hello Shannon: I want to thank you for your sweet comment on my little tea pot and cups card I created for the CAS Colours and Sketches.
I also want to thank you for your words about the picture on my blog, which was taken back in 2006 at the Iron Man Triathlon in Madison, WI.
I’ve been a swimmer all my life and I came to Triathlons in 2003, racing the Sprint and Olympic Distance races until 2006 when I ventured into the realm of IronMan Triathlons, where you swim 2.4 miles in a lake or the ocean, then you bike 112 miles and run 26.2 miles, all in a span of 17 hours.
These races are grueling but not impossible to do, my advise to your daughter’s friend is to do the small Triathlons and train diligently, if you do, you will have a magical day.
I was 55 when I did my first Iron Man Triathlon in 2006 and 60 when I did my last in 2011, I still run on my treadmill and bike on the trainer, but I haven’t gone swimming since the Covid-19 virus hit, I miss the pool like crazy, I’m now 70 years old.
So anyway, thank you again for your sweet words and good luck to your daughter’s friend, I hope he has lots of fun participating in this fantastic sport.
Please stay healthy and safe.
XO
Maria.
What a super sweet card, Shannon! It’s the same for me, I always over think everything and even the simplest sketch requires quite an amount of time before I can come with a take on it.
Thank you!
Thank you!
That’s so good Shannon! I love the different “natural” images that you used, they look so cute together!!
Wow!! The combination of ladybug and daisy flower is so great. I love the vivid color.
