Floral Essence meets CAS Colour Challenge #324

Today I have for you a color challenge from CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #324, Such a pretty color combo, not one I use very often so I was very interested to see where I would take this. If time is bendable for you, take a minute to click on over to the CAS Colours & Sketches site to see what so many other fantastic designers were able to come up with as well.

Looking at these colors, I think most automatically go to designs welcoming little ones into the world. For that reason, I steered clear of the baby theme, and I also realized I have an extremely limited collection in my stash to create baby cards with. With that discovery I took a floral route, creating my own Designer Series Paper with the challenge colors.

To started, I decided to use Powder Pink as the card base, then mat it with Pool Party, which photographed more like a true light blue. In reality it looks more like the images above with a green tint to it. On Water color paper I chose to create my one of a kind DSP using the Floral Essence stamp set. I used the solid images as well as the line drawn images and stamped them all in Powder Pink. For the flower centers, I used the image in the set and stamped with So Saffron. I water colored the sky (background) in Pool Party. I then attached the panel after it was thoroughly dried to the front of the card with some fun foam (to correct some warping that occured) attached behind, then adhered to the card with liquid glue.

The Sentiment comes from the Floral Essence stamp set as well, I stamped it in So Saffron then cut it with the Stitched Nested Label Dies, and attached to the front of the card with dimensionals. I adorned the sentiment with some pearls from the Share What You Love Pearl set that happened to include some So Saffron Pearls.
