Freshly Made Sketches FMS386
Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by! I really do appreciate your visits.
I come to you with another card design that was originally attempting to take down two birds with one stone – 2 different card challenges rolled into one card. Well I ran in to a bit of a family issue, did I also mention it is the end of the school year? Have you heard of Maycember? Yep, ciaos in my world right now! Luckily I have the greatest stress reliever to turn to…. when time permits! The philosophy of the day is 1 out of 2 ain’t too bad! Better luck next time, maybe better planning – though Middle Schooler setbacks aren’t exactly plannable.
Here is a card created for Freshly Made Sketches Card Challenge FMS386. You really should hop over and check them out. I am a big fan of these various card/paper challenges out there. For me, they keep me from falling into a rut. Some of these challenges, sketches, color combinations or introduce new techniques (maybe new to you) that will force your brain to look at things differently, a fresh perspective. Today was a day of being thrown a wrench and having to work with it, like it or not.
This card was also created for another challenge at Sunday Stampers. SSC203 NATURE’S BOUNTY Unfortunately, this was the deadline I missed.
I love how ideas will just hit you when designing a card for a friend in need, a family member, or a card challenge. For me I go into thinking one way then all of a sudden, while looking through the stash, the idea morphs into something even better. Then from there is morphs a few more times and Boom, Bang, Bing – something absolutely different! That is what happened here. I had it in my head I was going to used Varied and Vibrant Vases for this card – that did not change, however, color and layout did several times.
This card started in my head with Vibrant Vases Stamp set and the coordinating Vases Builder Punch, that line of thinking did not change, everything else in shifted to a new path. The color challenge for Sunday Stamps wanted 3 of the 4 colors used in the design so I went with Mossy Meadow, Highland Heather and Mango Melody. I used my favorite vase from Vibrant Vases and chose to make it Highland Heather. The Tulips are a two step stamp, the outline is stamped in full strength Mango Melody the filler stamp is stamped off Mango Melody. Of course stems and leaves are Mossy Meadow. The stems are from the Lakeside Framelits die set. The leaves are also a 2 step stamp, the outline of the leaf is full strength Mossy Meadow and the filler stamp is Mossy Meadow stamped off. I attached the stems, tulip blooms and leaves with liquid glue, then attached to back of vase. The front greeting is from Vibrant Vases and stamped in Highland Heather on Whisper White Cardstock, then punched out with the Starburst punch. That was then attached to a round Mossy Meadow mat, cut from the Layering Circle Dies. The vase was attached to that with dimensionals. The patterned paper comes from the Share What you Love Designer Series Paper (DSP) the pattern above is Mossy Meadow stamped on Whisper White using the Crackle Background Stamp. The inside sentiment is stamped in Highland Heather and comes from the Enjoy Life stamp set.
So glad you stopped by, hope you enjoyed this card and I do encourage you to try challenges of your choice, they are loads of fun. I will see you again real soon!

Thank you! Aside from the fold, the card is pretty simple, I think thats what I like most about it.
