Card Challenges

Global Design Project #GDP188

Hello everyone, thanks so much for stopping by!

Today I have for you a project created for the Global Design Project #GDP188. This is a CASEing challenge. CASE means Copy And Selectively Edit. When you come across a creation that you absolutely adore, analyse the design and make it your own. Not copying everything in the design, but picking a feature of that design that really caught your attention. The Paper, the layout, the color scheme, the stamp set, subject matter and so on.

Today for my CASE of the project shown above I copied the layout, changed everything else. My card is all about the coffee! The deep dark lusciousness of mornings first cup of coffee, and if you happen to be like me in the morning, the inevitable mess that most likely will occur!

I started with a Basic Black card base. I then moved on to my coveted Coffee Cup Framelits, the Coffee Cafe stamp set and the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped the coffee cup on Crumb Cake cardstock with Early Espresso, on Very Vanilla cardstock I stamped the sleeve in Crumb Cake and the “Thanks a Latte” in Early Espresso. Moving on to the Big Shot I picked the coordinating dies for the cup, sleeve and sentiment along with the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I cut the lid for the coffee cup in Basic Black then used a white Gelly Roll pen to add definition. I ran a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock in the Basket Weave DTIE Folder. I ran a piece of Early Espresso and Very Vanilla cardstock with different sizes of Rectangle Stitched dies.

For the Very Vanilla Mat I watered down Early Espresso on a pallette then set the bottom of a cup in the color and transferred that pattern to the Very Vanilla piece. I took the same watered down Early Espresso and did a bit of splatter.

Now everything comes together so easily, to the Basic Black card base I adhere the Crumb Cake Basket Weave embossed mat. followed by the Early Espresso rectangular piece topped with the very vanilla ring stained mat. I put together the coffee cup and attach to the finished card front with dimensionals. I want a cup of coffee so badly right now, I can practically taste it. I love the way this card turned out. I hope you enjoyed my design. If any of the products peaked your interest, take a look below, click the link.
