Good Morning Magnolia rises to the Papercraft Challenge
Hello every one, thanks so much for stopping by, I do appreciate it!
Today I have for you a challenge put forth by the Paper Craft Crew, it is a Sketch Challenge. Challenge #PCC339
I love challenges, be it sketches, color, theme, creative folds – they are so much fun and absolutely help bend creativity and the imagination in ways that may or may not be comfortable or normal.
For this challenge I have used Good Morning Magnolia – an absolutely gorgeous set, being a southern girl, I could not pass up this set. I have even wandered around the neighborhood and taken photos of Magnolias in blossom so I can have my own Alabama grown Magnolias to rely on for reference.
The colors I chose for this card are Mossy meadow a very dark earthy green and Petal Pink, which didn’t photograph quite as well as I had hoped. Its comes across incredibly pink, when in fact it is more of a peachy pink. The strip of accent paper on the side comes from a coordinating suite called Garden Lane.
The Magnolia blossom was colored using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers in Petal Pink Combo, Old Olive Combo and Dark Flirty Flamingo.
The mat is composed of a cut to size piece of Mossy Meadow Card and a piece of of Petal pink, they were attached with tear n tape and run through the big shot in the Basket Weave Embossing Folder. Before attaching any of the embellishments, I wrapped the decorative mat with Linen Thread. Then, I attached the Magnolia Blossom, the intricate die cut leaves from the coordinating die set and some additional leaves colored with Stampin’ Blends markers, attached all of the elements to the decorative mat with Liquid adhesive. The best choice for highly textured surfaces, to insure maximum stickage!
The sentiment strip was created with a strip of Mossy Meadow, and uses a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greeting set. I heat embossed the sentiment in gold and attached with dimensionals. To finish off the card I went with some pearls scattered about.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed my creation. If time permits try to click over to the Paper Craft Crew site and see what others have been able to create with this sketch. There are so many super talented designers out there. Thanks for stopping in and I will blog with you again real soon.
