The New 2020 January – June Mini Catalog Spring /Summer release is a fantastic collection of new stamps, dies, designer series paper packs, embellishments, ribbons and more. The Suite I am going to introduce to you this week is the vibrantly stunning Peaceful Poppies Suite.
Most often, Designer Series Papers are simply gorgeous, on occasion, at least one of the patterns demands to be “The Star of the Show”! Without question this pattern has made that demand and it will not be upstaged. The entire Peaceful Poppies Suite is ….. there are no words… I Love it! The Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper collection makes it incredibly difficult to pick just one pattern to work with today. They all want to be noticed. GORGEOUS!

Did you know that Poppies come in several colors? I didn’t realize there were so many. I am familiar with the red variety, somewhat knew there was a white, but no idea yellow, orange, purple, black or pink even existed. When I saw the purple poppies in these papers, I was forced to research. The Red and White hold significant meaning, the other colors also represent a group of souls or a well wish. Quickly, Red = per the Royal British Region, represents all the people lost in battle during WW1. it is also one of the August Birthday flowers. White= Peace, remembrance of all war victims from WW1 to today. Typically seen together with the red poppy but it can be seen in place of the red poppy. Black = Remembrance of people from African, Black and Caribbean decent who contributed in any way to the wars from WW1 on. Purple = Represents all animals that lost their lives in battle. Pink = Imagination Success & Luxury. Yellow = Wealth & Success during the Victorian Era.
This pattern in the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper is cut to size mounted on a Basic Black cardstock Mat with liquid glue and mounted onto a Whisper White card base. The sentiment “Thank You” from the Peaceful Moments Stamp set, is white heat embossed on a vellum piece cut from the Painted Labels Dies. The sentiment piece is adhered to a Basic Black mat also cut from the Painted Labels Dies. The front is embellished with some gold sequins from the Peaceful Poppies sequins. To step up the inside of the card, a poppy image from the Painted Poppies Stamp set in stamped in Black in the lower left corner, using a pattern image from this set I stamped in Poppy parade on the petals, the leaves are colored with the Stampin’ Write markers in Mossy Meadow and Old Olive.
