Inspire Create Color Challenge #043

Hello everyone, so glad you could stop by today!

Today I have for you a card created for the color challenge posted on Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges, Challenge #043. This challenge incorporates a bunch of very fun, bold, bright colors. When I saw this color combo I immediately went floral, not my usual go to, but all I could see was my favorite rose color combo. I can’t remember the name of the rose, but it is my absolute favorite. I find I just gotta roll with whatever pops in my mind for these challenges, otherwise I work other ideas to death and it shows.

If the opportunity presents itself, hop on over to the the web page of Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge and check out what several other talented designers are coming up with. So Fun!

For this card, since all the colors are so bold on their own, I chose to keep the card base clean and simple with Whisper White thick cardstock.

For the decorative front panel I used several images from the Forever Lovely stamp set, using my Stamparatus. The images I chose to begin with are a 2 step process, the Stamparatus just makes it much easier to line things up before you stamp, eliminating the chances of a mishap (which if it can, it will happen with me!) With stamps of this sort (photo realistic – almost like a Distinktive stamp), to keep areas from getting too inked up, I used sponge daubers to get the color onto the stamp evenly, I seem to be a bit heavy handed with the ink pads. With the dauber on finger tip, I dabbed Pumpkin Pie all over each flower, I then came back with another dauber and dabbed Poppy Parade in the center of the larger flower blooms. After cleaning and removing that image from the Stamparatus, I moved on to the 2nd layer which is the foliage (all things green in the finished image), I dabbed away with another dauber loaded with Granny Apple Green then stamped that image. The largest flowers coming off the edge in 3 places and the larger leaves are 2 additional images in the stamp set, I dabbed and stamped each image with the Stamparatus as I did above.

On a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the greeting, also from the Forever Lovely Stamp set. To the Big Shot we shift to make quick work of a stitched oval die to die cut the greeting. With everything stamped and ready to go, I pulled together the final flourishes which include the Granny Apple Ribbon that is wrapped around the front panel, the greeting on the die cut oval attached with dimensionals and the finishing touch of bling is provided by Sequins from the Basic Adhesive Backed Sequins Pack.

I attached the decorative panel to a mat of Granny Apple Green, then attached the combined finished panel to the front of the Whisper White Thick card base with foam strips for a bit more interest. The inside of the card base is not to be forgotten! In the lower right corner I stamped the larger flower and leaf image again with the Stamparatus and dauber method. It makes a subtle appearance in one of the photos above.

I completely adore this card, it turned out better than I could of hoped (in my opinion of course.) I hope you enjoyed it, and if the time is available hop on over the Inspire Create Stamping Challenges to see what other very talented designers have created. Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a great day and a very safe Memorial Day Weekend. Its time to enjoy those kids just out of school for the summer, I hope to chat with you again real soon and show off another creation.
