The color scheme I chose to go with, is one I picked up from Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges – using Pumpkin Pie, Granny Apple Green and Poppy Parade. I love this combination of colors and it definitely lends itself to floral creations.

For this creation, I chose to stick with a clean and simple card. Whisper White Thick Cardstock base, a Granny Apple mat layer topped with a simply stamped Forever Lovely Stamp Set. This is a 2 layer stamping set so I chose to do all the stamping on the Stamparatus, it is definitely my safety net and saves a lot of cardstock for me. I am not a master at lining up the 2 layer stamps.

On the front Whisper White panel I used the 2 stamp images in this set. The first stamp is what I represent with the mix of Poppy Parade and Pumpkin Pie Flowers, the 2nd step stamp is represented with the Granny Apple Green leaves and sprigs. For me, I do much better with the Distinktive line of stamps (such as this one) if I use sponge daubers to dab on the ink. I am a little too heavy handed when going into the ink pad for this line of stamps. I really prefer this method, it is so much easier to create various color combinations with the dauber, than relying on the ink blocks to create the effect. Once I got what is in essence the border, stamped onto the bottom of the Whisper White cardstock, I wrapped Granny Apple Textured Weave Ribbon around the front and attached the ribbon to the back with tape.

The sentiment also comes from the Forever Lovely stamp set, on a scrap piece of Whisper White, I stamped the sentiment in Granny Apple Green then cut it out with the Stitched Oval Dies. The die cut sentiment is attached with dimensionals for a little more height and interest. I like to refer to interest as Drama. The mostly finished front was then attached to a Granny Apple layering mat, which was attached to the Whisper White Card base with dimensionals for more interest…..or Drama!

On the interior of the card, for a little element of surprise, I stamped the image of a lone flower that was dabbed with Pumpkin Pie and Poppy Parade.

Thanks again for stopping by, hope you enjoyed this creation. Please pop on over to Kylie’s International Blog Highlight and vote for my card. While visiting the site, take a look at all of the talented designers that have also entered their creations.
