Lucky Me, the Game is On.
Hey! Thanks for stopping by my little happy spot. Take a look around and hope you enjoy.
We would love to see what card creation you can bring to life. Please consider, taking a minute to post your card creation in our challenge gallery at CAS Colours & Sketches.
The card I have for you has been created for The Global Design Project Case the Designer Krista Frattin #GDP244. Kristia Frattin is a Global Design Team Member and resides in Canada. I love her card, it is so sweet, subtle and calming. I just feel at ease looking at this card, I guess it is the soft colors? I don’t know but I do love it!
CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit
Today I had a bit of a play with a new stamp set from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. It is called Game on, and it plays right up my husbands alley. My Husband grew up in South Mississippi, directly across the bay from Biloxi. He is no stranger to Casinos, he and his friends are math wizards, with that over active right brain they learned how to play the odds. Thus they all developed quite an affinity for gambling, namely poker. He is very smart about it, he starts with a set amount, when its gone its gone, anything he wins above the set amount goes into his pocket and stays there. WARNING: My card is not as soft and subtle as the card we are CASE-ing. That said, there is nothing soft and subtle about gambling or gaming. Here we go.
The basic card design remains the same as the card we are CASE-ing. From the Game On stamp set I stamped the Royal Flush hand in Real Red on Whisper White, then fussy cut the image. Using the Stitched Rectangle dies I cut 2 Real Red Rectangles, One will sit on the front of the card while the other will be attached inside the card, making a cleaner inside look. I created a birds nest with the gold twine from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack and attached it to the Real Red Stitched Rectangle with a tiny piece of double sided tape. With dimensionals, I attached the Royal Flush on top of the gold twine. With Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, I stamped the sentiment “Lucky Me, Because I have you” onto a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock and used the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch to create the tag. The background is Basic Black dry embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. The gray strip of paper inside the card is a pattern from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper. With all the parts and piece together, now it all comes together as a whole. The Basic Black background is attached to the card base with Liquid glue. The finished Real Red Stitched Rectangle focal panel is attached to the background with liquid glue. Inside the card I attached the 2nd Real Red Stitched Rectangle right behind the front rectangle. To me, it gives the back side/inside a cleaner look and carries the red to the inside of the card, creating a nice detail. The patterned paper strip is attached to the side, giving the front a gorgeous contrast. I really do love how this card came together, so dynmaic. For the finishing touch, there is nothing understated about Casinos, to pull the glitz of the gold twine out a bit more, I added a few gilded gems (opaque faceted gold gems).
Thanks again for stopping by and spending a bit of your time with me. I hope you enjoyed learning about how this card came together. Hopefully you were even inspired just a bit.
