Make a Wish
Hey there, thanks for stopping by today. I have created this card for the Sunday Stamps Challenge SSC202, I used the Sunday Stamps challenge as my guide for design.
My Brother-in-law has a birthday this week, so this card was created for him and inspired by his love of fish. More so the saltwater tank variety, but this was the best I could do with what was already in my stash! I was thinking a fishtank might be a better background for this card, but we don’t have a whole tank, we have a lone betta, they don’t require much space. Aside from that container might be a bit small for a background, she needs to be cleaned, so she didn’t get to be in the picture. Maybe with the next fishy card.
The card is cut from Night of Navy Cardstock 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″. Each of the 3 rectangular shapes are made with Tranquil Tide and Balmy Blue and spaced evenly on the front of the card. The color combination seemed very “watery” to me, so I went with it. On a large scrap piece of Whisper White I stamped the front sentiment in Old Navy and Balmy Blue, then I clear embossed it to give a more special feel. I cut out the sentiment on the Big Shot with an Oval die. The fish and bubbles came from a Hero Arts collection I have. The bubbles were stamped in Versamark ink, so they came across very subtle. The fish I dry brushed with Mango Melody and shaded with Pumpkin Pie Stampin Write Marker. Inside the card I used a Whisper White 5-1/4″x 4″ mat, I stamped the sentiment in Balmy Blue and embossed it with clear embossing powder as well. Just another special touch.
