This post brings you a card I designed as inspiration for the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #367. The color names are from Stampin’ Up! Cardstock and are for reference only. They are Call Me Clover, Pineapple Punch and Blueberry Bushel.
I absolutely adore the March 2020 Stampin Up! Paper Pumpkin Kit. I think its the rain boots that cinch it for me. My thought process started with trying to use the Under My Umbrella Bundle, but I just keep gravitating back to this Paper Pumpkin Kit. So here ya go – I guess you could call this a Paper Pumpkin Alternative.
Super easy card to pull together, a little masking, some blending and a make shift circle stencil. On a piece of Whisper White I stamped the rain boots and basket of flowers in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, created a mask for each image and covered them up. I put down a circle template that was easily created by die cutting a circle tho the size I wanted. Pulled out my blending brushes and a cloud mask I also created by die cutting a cloud border from a retired Stampin’ up set. Blending brush and Blueberry Bushel ink pad on the ready, I put the cloud mask down and began blending, pulling the cloud mask down as desired. The Grass is also blended Call Me Clover. Pulled off all the masks and stencils, stamped the rain boots with the fill pattern and the fill pattern for the flowers in Pineapple Punch. With a Stampin’ Write marker in Blueberry Bushel I colored the trim on the boots (though the pictures make it look black – on the card they are definitely blue! Must be the lighting?). The basket also is also Blueberry Bushel. The background grasses are stamped in 2nd generation Call Me Clover. I attempted to highlight the Blueberry Bushel basket with a White Gel Pen, However, White turned into a light blue. The sentiment “Life’s Showers Bring Love’s Flowers is from the Under My Umbrella Stamp set. Once the front panel was finished, I attached it to a Blueberry Bushel mat then attached the combo to a Whisper White side folding card base.
Inside the card I simply stamped the basket of flowers in Crumb Cake and Pineapple Punch.
