Some kits just hit you the right way and your brain just explodes with tons of ideas…..this was a kit just like that for me. The October 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Joy to the World. The included stamp set, die cuts, twine, cards and envelopes were so versatile. I couldn’t keep up with all the ideas and other things in my stash that could work in tandem with the kit. I did pull in additional cardstock in Just Jade, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler, ribbon, gold heat embossing, embossing folders, stitched shapes dies and Stitched Rectangle dies (which are similar to the included die cut tags included in the kit). I played around with the soon to be released Curvy collection as well – coming your way 3 November. Which is super fun in its own right and another post. Presenting October 2020 Paper Pumpkin alternative #1, probably my fav of my faves!

I cut one of the included cardbases in half at the score line leaving me with this gold “stitched” embossed card front and then the solid crumb cake card back. The card base for this card is cut from Crumb Cake Cardstock as a standard A2 size side folding Z-fold card, cut 11″ x 4-1/4″ scored at 5-1/2″.

  • Whisper White cardstock: 2 strips cut to 2-1/2″ x 4″; Inside liner cut to 5-1/4″ x 4″
  • Gold embossed card base front included in kit: 2 strips cut to 2-3/8″ x 3-7/8″
  • Remaining sliver of Gold embossed card base from kit cut to 3/4″ x 3-3/4″

I gold heat embossed greetings, sentiments, flowers and the wreath from the included stamp set on Whisper White card. The flowers act as a border for the inside Whisper White Liner, The wreath is cut with the largest Square Stitched Shapes Dies, the greeting “To You and Yours” cut with the smallest Stitched Rectangle die – adjusted to fit the greeting, and attached to the card front with dimensionals. The sentiment “Joy” is also die cut with a Stitched Rectangle die, adjusted to fit around the word appropriately and attached with liquid glue to the center panel “inside” the card. Also in the kit are a few pieces of a “cable knit” embossed white card. I used one of the 3-1/2″ x 4″ included “squares” behind the wreath as a mat. The embossed piece is attached to a 3-5/8″ x 4-1/8″ “square” of the kit card base back (solid crumb cake). I felt a single, simple accent was best choice with all the gold embossing. The wreath received a triple wrap bow of the included Cherry Cobbler twine. In the words of Emeril…..BAM! I love how this card turned out.

Thanks again for stopping by and spending a bit of your time with me. I hope you enjoyed learning about how this card came together. Hopefully you were even inspired just a bit. Below are pictured links to all the items used for this card, click the link of the item to be taken to my online store where you can learn more about each item. I will return soon with something new. Until then, stay safe, stay healthy and without doubt, keep on crafting, exploring and creating.
