Paper Craft Crew Celebration Theme Challenge PCC337 – Baby Wishes
Hello everyone, so good to have you back!
Today I have a card for you that I created for a Theme Challenge at Paper Craft Crew #PCC337. If time permits, hop on over to their website and see the creativity of all the designers participating in this challenge as well as numerous others.
Like I mentioned, this is a Theme Challenge, pretty much opens the door to anything. For me I was feeling the need to create a card celebrating babies – after all it is Spring/Summer there are baby ducklings, baby birds cropping up everywhere. Coming out of the winter season always to tends to bring up a large amount of birth announcements. I am at that age where my kids are now adolescents and have absolutely turned me off of having any additional children! I will love on everyone else’s babies, but as they say, “I can love on them, spoil them and then I can give them back!”
So here is a card to all those who are expecting their wonderful bundles of joy! – Congratulations, here is to you.
Since this card was created for an imaginary baby with an unknown gender, I chose to go with gender neutral colors. Keeping it simple. So Saffron is the where we begin with this card base, 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″. I chose to create this card using a new bundle that will be released with the new 2019-2020 Stampin’ UP! Annual Catalog on 4 June. This set is called a Little Lace and can come as a bundle with a coordinating die set call Stitched Lace. I stamped the large floral image from the set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White Card stock, then I colored the flower with Mango Melody Stampin’ Blend Marker Combo and a touch of Old Olive Stampin Blend marker. The colored image was then fussy cut.
To the Big shot we go now. I will use the large Stitched Lace Die to create the lacy foreground of the card. I used the edgelit in the set to cut the lacy piece in half, and will use the other half on another project. Using some scrap Whisper White card stock, using the Well Written Framelits, I cut 6 of each word “Baby wishes”. Then using a scrap of Old Olive I cut each word once. I glued all 6 Whisper white pieces of each word together to add a great deal of dimension and interest. I took the old olive words, coated them with Versa Mark embossing ink, covered each word in clear embossing powder, put the heat gun to each word, and now we have shine, dimension and lots of interest. To finish the card, I attached the lacy piece with mini-dimensionals cut in half. Then, I attached the words with liquid glue to the “lace”. Below the lace, I attached a piece of Whisper White Flax Ribbon with Snail, and the attached the fussy cut and colored large flower image with dimensionals. I am thrilled with how this card turned out. To offer a bit more sparkle, I adhered some Sequins from the Gingham Gala Sequin collection.
I would like to thank you for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the card as well. If you get a moment, hop on over to Paper Craft Crew Website to see what they have going on.
