I am so excited that I get to play with this gorgeous new bundle that will be introduced in our January – June 2021 Mini Catalog. Simply stunning is what it is.

I used this bundle to create a box set of cards for several friends as holiday gifts. I used every image in the set and 3 of the sentiments and all of the dies. The only extra item not used from this bundle would be the Stitched Rectangle Dies. Each box is made with 1 sheet of 8-1/2″ x 11″ Misty Moonlight, Bumble Bee and Just Jade cardstock, with very little waste! At 1/2″ deep, these boxes hold 3 cards and 3 decorated envelopes easily, they could hold up to 6 cards and envelopes….depending on embellishments and layers you may decide to add to the cards.

Box Construction:

Trim and 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet of cardstock to 7-3/4″ x 11″. From the short side (7-3/4″ side at top of scoring board) of the cardstock score at 1/2″; 6-3/4″; 7-1/4″; Along the long side (11″ side at top of the scoring board) of the cardstock score at 4-3/4″; 5-1/4″; 10″; 10-1/2″. I used a 3/4″ circle punch to create the finger pull space. Trim along the score lines as shown in photo below only in the portion above or below the 1/2″ spine that you have chosen to be the front of the box, be sure to leave behind the tabs at the top and bottom of the soon to be box. After trimming off the bits that aren’t necessary, fold in all the score lines to be sure everything lines up as it should and all the excess bits have been cut away. Now use the 3/4″ circle punch to punch a 1/2 circle as the finger pull slot at the top of the box front. I prefer to use strong tear tape to hold the boxes together so I don’t have to wait on the glue to dry enough between each step. I think it is best to decorate the front/back of the box as you choose before putting the box together. Stamping, coloring, etc is much easier when it is flat on the desk rather than already a 3d constructed box. Embellishments can easily go on after the box has been constructed. I stamped the succulent plant image on the front of the box using Versamark Ink.

Cards:

All the cards are a Whisper White Thick cardstock standard A2 size card cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored/folded in half at 4-1/4″. Some are side folding and some are top folding, but that is the beauty of this style card…it is versatile. From there all the card fronts are treated the same way – there is a mat of Bumble bee, Just Jade or Misty Moonlight with the Whisper White decorative panel cut with a Stitched Rectangle Die, attached with liquid glue. The Whisper White decorative panel is stenciled using the card front die from the bundle. I quickly created the stencil by die cutting a piece of Whisper White thick cardstock. I blended over a small portion of the stencil with blending brushes (these are also a new item that will be available in the January – June Mini Catalog. I did a few with Misty Moonlight, a few more with Just Jade and a few more with Bumble Bee ink. I then die cut a few circle from the 6″ x 6″ In color Designer Series Paper Pack using the Stitched shapes circle die. I stamped out the Simply Succulent images (plants and pot) several times in Memento Black ink and colored them with the Blends markers. I stamped several of each sentiment “Thanks”; Kind People are my kind of people” and “you’ve been on my mind” in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used all the coordinating dies to cut out the sentiments and images. All elements were just glued to the decorative panel. Inside the card I used more die cut images in the lower corner.

Thanks again for stopping by and spending a bit of your time with me. I hope you enjoyed learning about how this card came together. Hopefully you were even inspired just a bit. Below are pictured links to all the items used for this card, click the link of the item to be taken to my online store where you can learn more about each item. I will return soon with something new. Until then, stay safe, stay healthy and without doubt, keep on crafting, exploring and creating.
