Our CAS Colours & Sketches hostess this month is Joanne. Last week she brought us a very festive color challenge, this week she treats us to a very fun sketch challenge! We would really love to see what you create with this challenge, so if your up for it, post your card creation on our blog.
The holiday season can get very hairy around my house – one kid is a year round swimmer, the other plays Varsity Basketball and both have otherwise, very busy social calendars. They keep mama hoppin’, also keeps mama’s spare time a bit tight! Thus the shorter blogs – This card is yet another one stamp set wonder. I chose to go with the Sweets & Treats stamp set. Again, I made my own patterned paper. Everything on the patterned paper is stamped in 2nd generation Cinnamon Cider and colored with Watercolor pencil in Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso and white. The fruitcake in the circle is stamped in full strength Cinnamon Cider and colored with the same Watercolor pencils. The sentiment is also from this stamp set, stamped in Cinnamon Cider on Basic White trimmed to 1/2″ wide then snipped at the ends with scissors. I chose to go with Cinnamon Cider because Cinnamon is a very loved flavor and scent during the holidays – very appropriate for Carmel Apples, Fruitcake (or whatever you want that image to be) and cupcakes. Needed to maintain the foody theme.
