I am loving the Evening Evergreen – I am a forest green kind of girl, so when this color came out last year I was in love. Likewise when the 6″x6″ New Horizon DSP came out in the January – June Mini-Catalog – I fell in love. These two paper combinations are always in the the forefront of my mind, though not always appropriate for every card, so not always used – but the DSP is absolutely gorgeous. This card is for my mom, and will be sent to her for Mothers Day. Thus the color scheme is a combination of colors she is quite fond of – not so much myself – but its not for me. She loves flowers, any flower, I am not certain she has a favorite – but I DO love wildflowers so I went with the Daisy/Coneflower cluster from the Nature’s Harvest Cling Stamp Set. I stamped the flower cluster in Versamark on Vellum, then heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. That’s the hardest, most fun and coolest part. Everything else is a die cut or a quick use of the paper trimmer. The sentiment “Happy Mother’s Day” came from the Daffodil Daydream stamp set. It is stamped in Evening Evergreen on a scrap piece of Basic White Cardstock then die cut with one of the smaller Layering Circles dies. I die cut Calypso Coral card with a border die from the Scalloped Contours dies, then trimmed a patterned paper from the New Horizons DSP to fit inside the frame. I used Stampin’ seal to attached the DSP to the frame. The piece of vellum is attached with glue dots in strategic locations, behind the flowers and the sentiment. The sentiment is attached with dimensionals to the vellum. The finished panel is attached to the card with craft foam (I prefer the feel of the foam panel rather than dimensionals behind the panel), that is attached to the Evening Evergreen cardstock card base. Inside the card is lined with a piece of Basic White card, bordered with strips of the DSP from the front – a strip from the top and a strip from the bottom. I would like to say I had that planned from the get go – but truly, it was an extremely happy accident/lightbulb moment. On the liner, is a smaller image of a wildflower cluster stamped in Evening Evergreen. To add a touch of glimmer and pizzazz and to compliment the gold embossing I used the Brushed Brass Butterflies on the front as well as inside. I love these little guys! To finish off the card, I attached a bow made from the Evening Evergreen Windowpane ribbon – another item I can’t seem to get enough of. Like I said, I am a forest green kinda girl and well Evening Evergreen is a pretty close match.

#stampitcontest So many techniques. Guess I should just make a list and work my way through. One would be using vellum in all its ways.
