I had a tough time deciding which color scheme I wanted to go with, so I made this card using both Cherry Cobbler and Evening Evergreen cardstock for the card base and band. I thought seeing them both would help me make a solid choice, that did not happen. I love both, though I think if I had to make a decision, the Evening Evergreen feels better – so there it is. Still undecided.
I used the new early release Eden’s Garden Collection from the January to June 2022 Mini Catalog to create this Gatefold Christmas card. I dove into the Annual catalog for the Tidings of Christmas 6″x6″ patterned paper and Gold Shimmer Ribbon, a scrap or two of Brushed Metallic gold cardstock, Evening Evergreen cardstock and Cherry Cobbler Cardstock. Topped off with a bit of Gold heat embossing. For the band, I used the medium label die cut from the Seasonal Labels dies, then gold heat embossed the smaller leaf image from Eden’s Garden Stamp set and around the edge of the label, just to give a bit more definition. The gold heat embossed sentiment is from the Time of Giving Cling Stamp set. The inside is lined with a piece of Basic White cardstock, cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die, I die cut the largest wreath from the Eden dies from Brushed Metallic gold cardstock. I cut the wreath so that I could use all 4 edges for inside both cards – the longer sides of the gold wreath are used as a border on the top and bottom on the Basic White liner at the top and bottom of the Cherry Cobbler card. The shorter sides of the gold wreath are used as a border at the top and bottom of the liner inside the Evening Evergreen card. They look a bit different but, they are separate cards going to very different locations.
