I am absolutely in love with this card! First off, I love the look, colors and smell of lavender. So much so that I have anything and everything connected to it. Lavender shower gel and lotion, essential oil for my laundry, diffusers, candles, etc. So it is a natural progression that I had to have the Lavender Suite. I personally don’t do much with patterned paper unless I can connect with the majority of the patterns in the pack, this set is a success with me – purple is always welcome, I adore the natural rustic feel of crumb cake – this entire suite has won me over. For this card, I had the overwhelming need to add in the Simply Zinnia bundle – for an additional touch of color. It feels more like a flower garden with that addition which also works perfectly for a birthday card. The Crumb cake gingham patterned paper works so well for the background – and I simply love the pattern. The colors are what makes me the happiest with Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape for the lavender. Berry Burst, Lofty Lemon, Pumpkin Pie, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape cardstock for the Zinnia. The leaves are Mossy Meadow and Old Olive cardstock. The flowers and leaves are cut with the coordinating Simply Zinnia die set. The sentiment is from the Notes of Nature stamp set, stamped in Crumb Cake on Basic White cardstock and die cut with the Tailor Made Tags die set. The final touches of the Natural Wavy Trim – which is hands down my favorite ribbon/trim of all, and a dash of purple and sparkle on the tag with the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems (another piece to the Painted Lavender Suite.)

A fall theme blog hop – in my corner of the world it is entirely to hot to even begin contemplating Christmas crafts much less Fall things – heat index 109/110F – way too hot. However, my kids have returned to school – my daughter to High School and my son is a Freshman in College following pursuing his basketball dream at the collegiate level (hoping for a much bigger prize) as well as his plan B in Finance. School being back in session is the only thing that can put in the Fall frame of mind for the time being.

I have pulled inspiration from a Fall wreath that I adore putting up every year on my Front Door – it is my absolute favorite wreath of the year (even barring out Christmas?!). The colors are everything Fall – Yellow, Orange, Red with a little bit of Brown and Green. Lots of berries, changing leaves, pinecones and pumpkins. In my world there has gotta be a little bit of sparkle – gold or copper are my go to for Fall. From day one, I have loved the In-color Pretty Peacock and have never let go – I am so happy it is back!!! Cajun Craze historically is my Fall go to, but this year – I am loving Copper Clay (easy Cajun Craze fill-in and Pecan Pie!)

For this card, I start with a standard A4 Size card – with the double door twist – in Very Vanilla Thick cardstock. I’m working with Cottage Wreaths stamp set and Country Wreaths dies – the sentiment is gold heat embossed and comes from the Season of Chic Stamp set. I used the The Banners Pick a Punch to punch out the sentiment tag. The patterned papers are predominately from Earthen Elegance with a subtle kiss from Fresh as a Daisy DSP and More Dazzle 6″ x 6″ Champagne Specialty Paper. The ribbon is the 3/8″ textured ribbon In-Color Copper Clay and the embellishments are the the Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots. I am wishing I had the In-color Jute trim collection, because this 3/8″ is just a bit too much, in my opinion – working with what I had at the time. Ironically, my box for the new catalog arrived today as I sent this out into the great world wide web. Can’t wallow in the tears, just gotta move on! Now that my box has arrived, I can play with my jute trim until…..

Congratulations to the winner of last month’s hop:
