This card was so much fun! First I want to give credit where credit is due, Rachel Tessman at Stampyourartout.com inspired me with one of her April Paper Pumpkin Alternate card creations. It was too much fun to pass up and absolutely perfect for what was brewing in my head for a Father’s Day card. This set uses only one stamp set and its coordinating die set (fairly unusual for me – I tend to pull from a little bit of everywhere).I used Trusty Tools Stamp Set and Trusty Tools Dies and Country Woods 12″ x 12″ DSP. For Inks I went with Night of Navy, Real Red and a touch Crushed Curry. The card base is Basically Beige cardstock cut to the standard A4 top folding size. I used Crumb Cake cardstock for the pegboard background. The metallic finish is Silver Foil scraps. This card utilizes ALMOST every stamp and die in each set. I fussy cut the Real Red DAD sentiment. The only tricky part of this card is the slot I had to create in the front of the card for the “DAD” sentiment to be able to work on top of the card as well as inside the card. Since it is a Father’s Day card – “DAD” just needed to be big, bold, bright and most of all – Fun. Give that word a job and this card has gone from just any card to a fun and FUNctional Father’s Day Card. The dad we are celebrating in this house if very much a hands on – handy man – kind of guy. From tiny repairs all the way up to the biggest of renovations (demo and new construction) he is our go to guy. This was just the perfect stamp and die set for him.

cute card
Awesome card! The tools are such a great idea for Father’s Day cards! My hubby used to own a hardware store, so this would be a perfect card for him!
What an awesome card – great ideas.
So cute! The dad who gets this card will be impressed!
Fab card Shannon!
I really like how you made the DAD stand out in bright red. I never think of doing stuff like that.
Another great card using that tool stamp and die set!
