My name is Shannon Hatch and today marks a lot of firsts for me. My first day hosting a challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches, which also means my first attempt at hosting our challenges through the entire month of November. No pressure. So many talented designers have preceded me and so many talented designers will follow me. I am so privileged and honored to be counted among this group of talented ladies. I have enjoyed my time here and have learned soooo much. So, lets dive in get November started with a Colour challenge. I am so much in a Fall frame of mind right now, leaves are probably my most favorite go to, all year long. However, they sing the loudest in the Fall. I would love to see what you are inspired to create with Cajun Craze, Bumblebee and Pear Pizzazz. These are Stampin’ Up! colors, but they are used only as a reference point, please do use whatever you have in your stash that most closely resembles these colors.
I have chosen to go with a fast favorite, The Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle, the bundle includes the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set and the Sunflower Dies. I sponged Bumblebee and Cajun Craze onto the Sunflower, then stamped on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock. I masked off the sunflower and stamped the leaves from the set in Pear Pizzazz. I colored the leaves a tiny bit with Pear Pizzazz and Bumblebee to create a shadow. I cut the image out with a Stitched Rectangle die. In Cajun Craze I stamped the greeting using 2 separate stamps from the Autumn Goodness Stamp set, “Thankful for You”. Using the outline die cut from the Sunflower dies, I cut the Cajun Craze sunflower outline from the Regal 6″x6″ Designer Series Paper in a Cajun Craze pattern. I love the “texture” of this pattern, my absolute favorite pattern in these sets. The die cut is glued to the center of the Sunflower. The focal panel is glued to a Cajun Craze mat, then attached to the Very Vanilla Thick card base with craft foam. I used the 2020-2022 In-color Epoxy dots in Bumblebee, to accent the front a bit more. Inside I stamped the smaller sunflower using the same sponging technique I used for the front sunflower.
Thanks again for stopping by and spending a bit of your time with me. I hope you enjoyed learning about how this card came together. Hopefully you were even inspired just a bit. Below are pictured links to all the items used for this card, click the link of the item to be taken to my online store where you can learn more about each item. If you would like to learn more about this challenge or to see what other talented designers have created for this challenge, hop on over to CAS Colours & Sketches. I will return soon with something new. Until then, stay safe, and by all means keep crafting, exploring and creating. See you soon.

You are the hostess with the mostest Shannon and I can tell you that I couldn’t resist this week’s colours and just managed to squeak a card in!!! Sunflowers are the perfect way to use these colours and I love the autumn feel and all the texture on your card. Vicky x
