I am THRILLED with how this card turned out and how easily the image in my mind actually worked out in the end! This card was really quick and easy to pull together. A good bit of die cutting, a bit of stamping with a stamp set that I dearly love because of its versatility, and Whala….Happy 4th of July USA, a very big hug and heart felt Thank You to all of those brave soldiers in the US Military.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock I used the Watercolor Shapes Stamp set to create a representation of the American Flag, stamped in Pacific Point and Real Red – both using the 2nd generation of the color. I used the 3rd Stitched Rectangle die to frame it. Using the Stitched Stars die set, I cut some stars and the flourish in Basic White and Gold Foil card – just to cover my bases since I wasn’t positive which direction I wanted to go. Never ever hurts to have extras either. I decided to use the larger star “skeleton” in Basic White then the flourish and additional stars in Gold Foil. I used an additional gold foil flourish inside the card as well. From Pacific Point card I selected the larger scalloped frame, which has become one of my most often used dies, of late. The scalloped frame is attached as a mat behind the basic white panel stamped with the flag. The stars and flourish are attached to the matted panel with glue, while the top stitched gold star is attached with a piece of foam adhesive die cut to match the size. Once the front panel is glued and completed, that is attached to another piece of foam adhesive sheet, then attached to the Basic White thick card base. I love the shadow play the raised scalloped frame adds to the card.
