This post brings you a card created for the Color Challenge #GDP237 at Global Design Project. The colors are Mint Macaron, Melon Mambo and Night of Navy. Hop on over to learn more about this challenge and see what others have created, or enter a card you have designed.
This card came together so easy….the thought took a bit of time to conjure, then it hit me over the head like a ton of bricks, and there was no looking back. My mojo has gone a bit wonky lately, so I never know what I am getting into when I get to the crafting table.
I started by stamping the images from the Soft Spring Stamp Set on a piece of Whisper White card stock in Mint Macaron and Melon Mambo. The filler images are 2nd generation stamping, to give a bit more definition. The Dragonfly is 2nd generation Memento Tuxedo Black, then the wings are colored in with Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker. I don’t know if these beauties are everywhere but they are here in Alabama. I think they are so pretty, Black and Blue dragonflies. I die cut the image with a die from the Nature’s Thoughts die set. The mat is a Designer Series paper from….Everything is Rosy, a Stampin’ Up! medley introduced a while ago, it is currently on the Clearance rack at quite the mark down. The Whisper White background is embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder. The sentiment “Thank You Kindly” is from the Botanical Prints stamp set in the Botanical Prints Product Medley. The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy, then punched out with the Label Me Fancy Punch. It has a mat of the same Night of Navy pattern that was also cut with the Label Me Fancy Punch, cut in half and adhered to the back of the sentiment. Everything is attached to a Whisper White Thick top opening card base.
If you know me at all, you know the inside is not to be missed. Inside in the top corner is stamped another floral image from Soft Spring in Mint Macaron and Melon Mambo. The filler images are 2nd generation of the same colors.
