For this post, I bring to you a glimpse of Spring, inspired by the Theme Challenge, “Let it grow”, at Global Design Project #GDP227.
Spring is definitely in the air in my part of the south. A little chilly today, however, over all we are in the 60’s/70’s for highs with lots and lots of rain. So in this scenario February showers will bring March flowers, though now that I think about it…..Spring flowers are already blooming and have been! Lets jump right into this card, allow the warm sunshine, crisp breezes
I love how springy and fresh this card feels, I love the color combination. Bring on Easter, Bring on Spring!
This card begins with a side opening Whisper White thick base. The mat is Balmy Blue and dry embossed with the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder. On a strip of Whisper White cardstock Timeless Tulips Bundle takes center stage. I stamped a stem and a leaf image using 1st and 2nd generations of Pear Pizzazz. On scrap pieces of Whisper White cardstock, I stamp the tulip bud images and leaf images, to be cut with the Tulip Builder Punch or fussy cut. TIP: Create a template for the punch, by punching out the images on a scrap piece of paper. Before stamping these images, use this template to layout the stamps as they will be cut by the punch. Works every time and will save you a headache or two. The large bud image is attached with a dimensional the leaves are simply glued as are the leaves.
From the Timeless Tulip stamp set comes the sentiment “What a Beautiful Difference One Single Life Makes.” stamped in Daffodil Delight on a scrap of Whisper White Card stock. The sentiment is punched out with the Label Me Lovely Punch. The mat for the sentiment is also punched with the same punch from Daffodil Delight, cut in half and adhered to the back of the sentiment and slightly separated to give the illusion of a larger mat. The little Daffodil Delight Bow finishes off the card front.
Since I refuse to leave the inside unfinished, I stamped the small tulip bud image in Daffodil Delight, and a portion of a stem image in Pear Pizzazz.
