This stamp set, Music From My Heart – page 57 of the Mini Catalog, is near and dear to my heart. I started playing piano when I was 7……. many many decades ago. My mother also plays piano. My son, at the age of 4 decided he NEEDED to play piano and has been ever since – over 11 years. My daughter started playing when she was 6 and is still playing, nearly 6 years. They both also play Trombone and Trumpet respectively. Their piano teacher is dear friend of mine and is darn close to being an adopted grandmother to them. Such a great person. Her mother and father were music teachers, now she is a music teacher, her husband is into music…..she is a woman destined to teach music. This set could not be more appropriate for all the musicians in my life.
I thought this would be an appropriate card for all the musicians in my life, and my kids life, to show how we feel about them and all they do.
This card was really easy to get together, predominately simple stamping on a piece of Whisper White, a tiny bit of generational stamping with the musically inclined hearts, the piano is colored with Stampin’ Blends, the hearts are stamped with Real Red, die cut with Stitched Rectangle Dies. The Black mat is die cut with a slightly larger Stitched Rectangle Die and the Real Red final mat is stamped with notes from the set using Versamark Ink, creating my own Designer Series Paper. Then it is clear heat embossed giving this mat, shine and texture….”The music is shining through”. All mats are attached using liquid glue. The layers are then attached with craft foam, for dimension, to the front of the card. I prefer the stability, sturdiness the foam gives the card. Dimensionals will definitely give the same elevation, I just prefer the ease of the foam.
The inside of the card is lined with a piece of Whisper White that has been stamped in the lower corner with a “note” that represents a heart.
