#469 Sketch Challenge – CC&S

We have moved along to week 2 of May, this time at CAS Colours & Sketches we have a sketch to spark your imagination. Anxious to see what everyone comes up with, so please do post your card creations in our photo gallery for this challenge right here.

This card was exactly timed very well – but its a belated Mother’s Day Card. I used the Cup of Tea Bundle – The cup of Tea stamp set and the Teacup Dies. Paired this with the new In-colors for 2022 – 2024: Starry Night (dark blue), Orchid Oasis (violet), Parakeet Party(green) and Sweet Sorbet (red). I don’t know that the twine was necessary, but in my mind it helped to emphasize the vertical element of the sketch. The teacup simply uses the teacup dies in the die set, the teacup body is one of the patterns in the Tea Boutique DSP pack and the outline is diecut from Starry Sky. The leaf sprigs in the teacup are stamped in Parakeet Party on Parakeet party cardstock and die cut with the coordinating die. The vertical element of the sketch is represented with the little 3 leaf cluster stamped in Parakeet Party all the way up the panel. The hearts are die cut from Sweet Sorbet cardstock using dies from the coordinating set – instead of flowers I thought it would be fun to have heart shape blooms – her cup spills over with love! The Happy Mother’s Day sentiment is stamped in Starry Sky and comes from the Celebrating You stamp set.
