This week at CAS Colours & Sketches our Design Team member Julie has come up with a color scheme that I truly love. Misty Moonlight, Crumb Cake and Night of Navy. I cant really explain how these colors inspired me to create a holiday/wintery card, but…… there it is!

I was apparently inspired to follow the cooler feel of the blues and went full throttle winter, maybe holiday. I really love how this card turned out though, kinda surprised me. It begins with a Crumb Cake card base, then I used a stitched rectangle to cut a piece of Whisper White card to size s a mat, then I ran that piece through the embossing machine with the Subtle Embossing Folder. The trees are from the Tree Angle Photopolymer stamp set, a few trees are stamped in Night of Navy and the smaller tree in 2nd generation Misty Moonlight. I cut those trees out with the Stitched Triangles Dies. Then I cut Night of Navy and Misty Moonlight card stock matts with the Stitched Triangle dies and ran those triangles through the embossing machine with the Textured Textile embossing folder. The trunk image is also included in the Tree Angle stamp set and was stamped in Crumb Cake. To ground the trees I stamped some additional dots around the bottom in Crumb Cake. I loved the finished card front, but just had to take it one step further…it made my heart so happy when I added the linen thread bows to the top of the trees. Just had to be done! Inside the card I stamped the smaller tree in 2nd generation Misty Moonlight and the trunk in 2nd generation Crumb Cake.
