Here is our last sketch for the month of February for CAS Colours & Sketches. Julie has done a fantastic job guiding us through this month, can’t believe February is nearly over. We would love to see your interpretation of this sketch, so please post your projects on our blog.

Here is what I came up with for this sketch and for some reason it just had to include this super cute set Sweet Ice Cream.

  • Card base Rococo Rose cardstock cut to 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ for a standard A2 side folding card.
  • Basic White cardstock used for the front panel cut with the Stitched Rectangle Dies. Using the Sweet Ice Cream Stamp set, I used the Ice Cream Scoop, cone, popsicle and stick image with their coordinating filler image. The inside liner panel is cut to 5-1/4″ x 4″ and stamped with and Ice Cream cone to match the front image. The Happy Birthday greeting is from the same set and stamped in Rococo Rose Ink.
  • The liner and front panel are attached to the card using tear-n-tape.

Disclaimer: Somehow these photos, taken from my phone….show a crosshatch pattern on most of the images that cannot be seen by the visible eye. Now, granted I only wear 2.0 reader glasses…..I have never noticed this before, so all I can figure is the lighting was just so when taking these photos, that it picked up on the most minute, while incorrect, details.

This looks so yummy! Love the soft colors and those treats are perfect for the sketch.

Ice cream and an ice lollipop – twice as nice Shannon! I think they look great – definitely good enough to eat – just need a little warmer weather!!

Thank you! Not meaning to tempt fate, however, that set is still available! In the photos I see a definite cross hatch that is not indicative of the image itself. The filler stamps have a tight dot pattern (pixel like look). I had never experienced that before, I don’t know if it was the angle, light, no idea!

I love your card full of lovely icy treats Shannon (although I had to put an extra cardi on when I said that!!) Isn’t that cross hatch texture a design feature? I’ve noticed it on several of my watercolour-style SU stamp sets and I love it! That stamp set was on my wish list and I’m kicking myself for not getting it :/
