A cluster of summery flowers for CAS Colours & Sketches Double Challenge #426
Hey! Thanks for stopping by my little happy spot. Take a look around and hope you enjoy.
We would love to see what card creation you can bring to life. Please consider, taking a minute to post your card creation in our challenge gallery at CAS Colours & Sketches.
This is the final challenge of June at CAS Colours & Sketches, it is also the 5th challenge of June. We are digging deep into the archives for this special treat…this is a double challenge! The sketch challenge is the 3rd challenge created way back in December 2012, and the color challenge is using the retired Stampin’ Up! color Tangerine Tango, Pink Pirouette and Peach Parfait. We can’t wait to see how you are inspired with this double challenge. Please do post your creation on our blog by 6:00pm EST Monday 5 July 2021.
It was so much fun digging around in the archives seeing what challenges were created through the years, This sketch was presented nearly 9 years ago as challenge #3 – way back in the beginning! I can’t remember where in the timeline this color challenge was, definitely a bit more recent, they all retired in 2018. None the less, I loved the color combination so I went with it. I must confess, the only color of this color challenge I have in my stash, in ink and paper, is Pink Pirouette. So, my substitute color for Tangerine Tango is Calypso Coral and for Peach Parfait is Grapefruit Grove, another retired color.
Tis the season for flowers, butterflies and all things summer. I went with a cluster of flowers, the larger flower is from the Art Gallery Stamp set and pansies come from the aptly named Pansy Patch Bundle! All flowers are stamped in Calypso Coral, Grapefruit Grove and the pansies bring in the Pink Pirouette. I also used Pink Pirouette as a watercolor wash on watercolor paper for the background, that I die cut with the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I also used a slightly larger Stitched Rectangles die for the mat in Grapefruit Grove. The Greeting “thank you” is from the Art Gallery stamp set and is stamped in Calypso Coral. The fishtail is cut from Pink Pirouette cardstock. All pieces are attached to the 5-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ Basic White card base with glue, for dimension I raised one of the pansies with Dimensionals. I love the summery, sherberty look of these colors together.
Hindsight being what it is – I think the new 2021-2022 In-color Pale Papaya might could have been a suitable replacement for Peach Parfait, though I think Pale Papaya would have been too light for the other colors already in the challenge. Your call, what do you think?

I’m not usually a big fan of orange colours, but I really liked this colour combination Shannon – great choice! Your florals look lovely against the texture too.
Such a pretty blend of the colors!
