Card Challenges

A Gala of Butterflies

Hey there everyone, thanks so much for stopping by to spend a little time with me. So glad your here.

Today I have for you, a creation designed to answer the challenges for CAS(E) this sketch! #325 CTS #325 – a sketch challenge and TGIF Challenges #TGIFC215 – a color challenge. They played so nicely together!

For this combination of challenges the sketch from CAS(E) this sketch, the color challenge from TGIF Challenges, using Stampin’ Up! colors Pool Party, Granny Apple Green and Night of Navy, played into my butterfly mood seamlessly. I guess the Spring Summer temps and sunshine are leading to the need for more butterflies recently. Not to mention that with our hectic summer schedule, to sit back and think about the relaxing images of butterflies softly fluttering and floating in the air through a beautiful country garden…. is ever so calming…..aaaaaah. Glass of wine in hand as well.

I feel like I stayed fairly simple letting Whisper White be the predominate background, simply matted with Night of Navy. A simple Night of Navy cardstock strip with a sentiment embossed in white, lends a bit of pop.

The Whisper White top mat was run through the die cutting machine with the Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder . I love this embossing, as is it can add such a depth and texture. Country Floral and Basket Weave are probably my all time favorite Stampin’ Up! embossing folders. The Dynamic floral pattern of this folder also lent itself quite nicely to the butterfly theme, plenty of flowers for them to choose from.

On Whisper White cardstock, I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink a few of each butterfly style in the Butterfly Gala Stamp set. I then used the filler images from the stamp set to color the top or bottom wings interchangeably with Pool Party or Granny Apple Green. Then I cut out the butterflies using the Butterfly Duet Punch. I now have tiny butterflies for another project, so it is a win-win situation! Everything is attached using liquid adhesive, I let the 3D effect of the butterflies take center stage.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed seeing it come together. Stay tuned I shall return again with another creation in no time at all. If you have a few extra minutes try to stop by CAS(E) this sketch! #325 and TGIF Challenges. So many creative ways to follow a sketch and color challenge. Have a great day and I’ll be back soon.
