Card Challenges

Blessed with To a Wild Rose

Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by, its great to have you here!

Today I have a card created for TGIF Challenges sketch challenge #tgif224.

This card is more or less getting back to basics and releasing the power of generational stamping. Every piece of the card is 1st, 2nd and in some cases 3rd generation stamping or double stamping in full ink. The entire project uses To a Wild Rose Photopolymer stamp set and its coordinating dies The Wild Rose.

The card base is half a sheet of Whisper White thick cut to 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″ to create a top folding card.

I created my own Designer Series Paper by using Highland Heather with the Rose image using 2nd and 3rd generation stamping.Soft Sea Foam for the leaves also in 2nd generation stamping. I used the softer color for the leaves because I wanted them to be as subtle as the flower.

I wanted it to pop right off the page so I did the rose image outline in Gorgeous Grape, the fill in color is back to Highland Heather with 1st and 2nd generation stamping.

I needed the leaves for the focal image to pop off the page as well so for those I used 1st and 2nd generation Pear Pizzazz. I did use my water color pencils to bring more life to the leaves by using a dash of Crushed Curry and Garden Green.

The other leaf elements, also from the Wild Rose dies, are cut from Pear Pizzazz card stock and vellum for a bit of variation. I fiddled with the pieces till I finally landed on an arrangement that I liked, glued all the stems together, then attached the arrangements to the back of the flower. The entire cluster is attached to newly created DSP with dimensionals. To set the focal panel apart, I used a mat of Highland Heather. The finished decorative panel is attached to the card base and mat with a piece of craft foam.

The sentiment, also in the stamp set, is heat embossed in Silver.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed this card. If you would like to learn more about this challenge, see the design team behind the challenges or to see what other designers have created for this and other challenges, hop on over to TGIF Challenges. I must go for now, however, I will return soon with something new. Until then keep crafting, exploring and creating.
