Card Challenges

Artsy Birthday card.

Hey everyone, thanks so much for stopping by, so glad your here!

Today I have a very fun card created for CAS(E) this sketch! CTS #334. Fun, because, I played with all sorts of my artsy paraphernalia! I played a good bit and finally landed with this.

For this card I pulled out all the art supplies, sat for a bit and played for a bit longer! I used my gelli plate, brayer, stencils/masks, one ink pad, the pigment sprinkles (brusho-esque), medium daisy punch, so many things – so much fun! I decided to create this card as a birthday card for my mom.

For this card I started with half a sheet of Whisper White Thick cut to 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″ for a narrow top fold card.

For the decorative panel, I applied Pineapple Punch with a brayer to a gelli plate. The diamond pattern mask from the collection of stencils in Pattern Party is placed on top of the ink on the gelli plate, with a paper towel I blotted up some of the color visible through the stencil. Got that to my liking then removed the stencil. I laid a piece of Whisper White cardstock over the gelli plate, massaged the paper to lift the remaining print. Wa la!

The Daisy is created with watercolor paper and a mix of Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green Pigment sprinkles. Once the water color paper was dry, I punch two daisies using the medium daisy punch, glued them together slightly off set. Then used a gold faceted gem as the center.

Using the word dies from Well Written, I cut out “Happy Birthday” twice from Whisper White Card stock, glued them together then attached to the front of the card. For the “tittle” (the dot over the “i”), I decided to go with an epoxy heart droplet that I colored with the Call Me Clover Dark Blends Marker. The Pineapple Punch mat and decorative panel are attached with liquid glue. Behind the combined duo is a piece of craft foam for elevation. The threesome and now attached to the card base, using liquid glue.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I do hope you enjoyed this card, it was loads of fun to create! If you would like to learn more about this challenge, the design team behind the challenges or to see what other have created, hop on over to CAS(E) this sketch! With that, I must go, I will return soon with something new. Until then keep crafting, exploring and creating. See you soon.
