Happy 2024 and welcome to our challenge!

Jeanne is the leading the way for us as our hostess for January. She has put together our first color challenge of the year using some bright springy colors.

These colors definitely make me feel like spring, though I could still get a winter vibe. What to do? The first thing that popped into my mind was Valentines Day – maybe because all the Christmas aisles, which always seem to magically transform into whatever the next commercialized holiday is, have gone red and pink ushering in Valentines Day. So I jumped on the suggestion and came up with….

This came together fairly quickly and easily, using left overs sitting on my desk and a single stamp set. I went to the Country Bouquet Stamp Set using the 2 overlay stamps in the set to create the heart. On an extra piece of Basic White cardstock already die cut with one of the Deckled Rectangles die, is stamped the flowers overlay is Berry Burst and the leaves over is stamped in Shaded Spruce. The sentiment from this set, “Happy Valentine’s Day”, is stamped in Highland Heather. Once finished with the stamping I attached the panel to a piece of Highland Heather cardstock and then attached that panel to the standard A4 card base.

Inside the card, I used a strip off of the cut down Highland Heather. then stamped some little hearts in Berry Burst and some leaves in 2nd generation Shaded Spruce.

Thanks again for stopping by and spending a bit of your time with me. I hope you enjoyed learning about how this card came together. Hopefully you were even inspired just a bit. So pretty Shannon! Your card reminded me that this set was still current – so waylaid with the ‘new’ I totally forgot about this beautiful floral heart. Just lovely!
